In 2015, 36 252 people were killed by guns in the USA. 0 were killed by Teddy Bears. Yet there are more regulations for manufacturing Teddy Bears than guns. So we created the Teddy Gun. The unregulated Teddy Bear: a symbol for the lack of common sense gun regulations.

TEASER FILM

We launched Teddy Gun with a film that introduced the product while bring the lack of gun regulations across in a highly provocative manner.

DOCUMENTARY

A documentary told the story of the Teddy Gun. From the conception, to the manufacture, to focus groups, to live exhibitions across the state, to members of congress showing their support, to the response from the general public.

TEDDYGUN.COM

Our website acted as the hub for the campaign, educating people on the value of common sense gun regulations, while also providing them with a tool to take action. This automated social tool allowed you to tweet directly at your senator and state representative. All you needed to do was select your state or fill in your zip code.

DESIGN

The design needed to be provocative and memorable yet simple enough to replicate across various channels.

Our starting point for the product was a teddy bear. But in addition to looking like a teddy bear, Teddy Gun needed to retain the functionality of a gun. We worked closely with a 3D designer and a gun manufacturer to bring our vision to life. And we used a variety of production techniques from molding to 3D printing to angle grinding to gunsmithing.

DISPLAY

A Teddy Gun installation, which compared teddy bear and Teddy Gun regulations visually, appeared in and around Chicago and in places near senators and representatives in Washington DC.

Print

We used Guerilla styled posters to further the conversation and direct people to TeddyGun.com.
